peace corps: bu top 25 2019
on thursday march 28th. peace corps director jody olsen will be traveling from washington d.c. to present boston university with a certificate of appreciation/recognition.

boston – peace corps announced today that boston university (bu) ranked no. 23 among large-size schools on the agency’s list of top volunteer-producing colleges and universities in 2019. there are 37 bu alumni currently volunteering in countries around the world.
bu returns to the list of top volunteer-producing colleges… in 2015, bu ranked no. 24. since the peace corps’ founding in 1961, over 1,470 alumni have served abroad as volunteers. the greater boston area ranked no. 5 among volunteer-producing metropolitan areas in 2018, with 178 bostonians currently serving, and massachusetts ranks no. 10 among states with the highest number of volunteers.
“we have seen time and again that the colleges and universities that produce the most peace corps volunteers focus on cultivating global citizens in addition to promoting scholarship,” said peace corps director jody olsen. “i am proud that so many graduates of these esteemed institutions leverage their educations to make the world a better place. they bring critical skills to communities around the world and gain hands-on, life-changing experience along the way.”
